Announcements of the College of Agriculture The establishment of the Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Agricultural Machinery and Machinery, at the University of Basra, in cooperation with the Directorate of Agriculture in the province, a scientific workshop entitled (Using laser leveling in preparing the land for agriculture) The workshop included two lectures, the first by Assistant Professor Dr. Mortada Abdel Azim, which dealt with the concept of soil management through the use of agricultural mechanization and its role in preserving the soil from deterioration and increasing agricultural production as well as the role of agricultural mechanization in the optimal use of irrigation water for crops As for the second lecture, which was given by the agricultural engineer, Mortada Rahim, an employee in the Directorate of Agriculture, in which he dealt with the method of leveling using the laser leveling machine, its components, the method of use, its advantages and the purpose of working with it. The workshop aims at scientific cooperation between the Directorate of Agriculture and the College of Agriculture in the use of modern technology in the agricultural field and to identify the most important problems and obstacles facing farmers and work to solve them by scientific methods. The workshop recommended encouraging the use of this technology in preparing the land for agriculture Examining on the ground the work of this machine, studying its advantages and disadvantages, and conducting studies on its extensive use Incorporating this machine into practical lessons for students and training them to use it in the future in agricultural fields, and this requires purchasing this system and using it in training and learning.
