Foundation :
The department opened after it was closed in the eighties, as it was a branch of plant production, and after a series of procedures, the approval of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research was obtained to open the department in the academic year 1993-1994. Graduate studies were established in the field crops department in the academic year 1994-1995 for a master's degree .
