
Assistant Professor Dr. Alaa Mohammed Sadkhan, a lecturer in the Department of Food Sciences at the College of Agriculture at the University of Basra, participated in the Third International Scientific Conference on Applied Sciences and Advanced Technology, organized by the Scientific Events Gate. The conference was held virtually in Malaysia. She was a lecturer and member of the conference's scientific committee, held from July 29-31, 2025. Her participation included a lecture entitled "Modern Methods Used to Detect Meat Fraud." The lecture aimed to highlight the importance of the nutritional value of meat, present the types of fraud in meat and meat products, which are among the most serious problems facing consumers, and compare simple traditional methods with modern, more accurate and effective technologies for combating meat fraud and protecting consumers. This is particularly true of adulterated meat and meat products prevalent in local imported markets in Iraq.
