University of Basrah organizes a course in handling and storing horticultural crops

The College of Agriculture at the University of Basrah organized a specialized training course in the handling and storage of horticultural crops. The course aimed to review the techniques of harvesting, packing, sorting, grading and storing horticultural crops. The course included the participation of the Dean, in the presence of a part of it, and his presentation of sound instructions related to the necessity of activating laboratories by professors and students of postgraduate and preliminary studies to achieve the main goal of laboratory quality. Iman Abdul-Ali Al-Sareeh and Assistant Professor Dr. Khawla Hamza Muhammad. Prof. Dr. Dia Ahmed Ta’in gave a lecture on the importance of preparing and handling horticultural crops in Basra Governorate and ways to develop post-harvest transactions for horticultural crops and reduce yield losses for many crops, especially tomatoes and potatoes. The course recommended that it is necessary That this aspect of the production process be given an important role in terms of equipping the circulation and storage laboratory with refrigerated incubators as well as other devices and equipment, and focused on the importance of the laboratory as a key to the researcher and the teaching process in the department and college
