Under the patronage of the President of the University of Basra, Professor Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kazem, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Agriculture, Assistant Professor Raghdan Hashim Mohsen, and in the presence of the scientific and teaching committees in the departments and a group of graduate students, the College of Agriculture held its first scientific conference for graduate students’ projects for the academic year 2023-2024. 
The conference included the presentation of a number of distinguished research papers in each of the scientific departments on the topics of food science, soil, horticulture, animal production, plant, fish and crop protection, and agricultural mechanization, after they were evaluated by the scientific committees in the various departments, in addition to displaying a group of introductory posters for other groups from Distinguished graduate students’ research at the various department levels 
The Dean of the College indicated that the conference aims to encourage graduate students to present their distinguished projects, motivate them, and spread the spirit of competition and scientific creativity among them to discover scientific and cognitive energies and to contribute to enriching the scientific research movement. He stressed that the interest is focused on consolidating and evaluating students’ scientific research to reach the best levels that It guarantees and reflects the quality of study in the College of Agriculture. At the end of the conference, certificates of participation were distributed to the participating students by the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Sadiq Jabbar Mohsen.
