University of Basrah participates in a workshop on the Bologna system

 

The heads of departments of the College of Agriculture, University of Basrah, participated in the workshop on the Bologna system, which was held under the direct supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and was held at the Technical College/Intermediate Technical University in Baghdad Governorate.

It is noteworthy that the Bologna System will be adopted starting from the academic year 2024-2025 for first-stage students, as the workshop included a detailed explanation of the requirements that must be met to apply the Bologna System and how to prepare study materials exclusively by the scientific committees in the scientific departments and in a way that suits the labor market according to ECTS units and what are the ways. Which must be followed to make this experiment a success, with the cooperation of teachers and students, as well as teaching staff, in accordance with an electronic ministerial system.

The workshop was attended by a number of members of the ministerial team responsible for implementing and following up on the Bologna system, and in the presence of a large number of teachers from various governorates of Iraq. The lecture was presented by Professor Dr. Ahmed Kanaan Al-Jaafari and Professor Dr. Fares Muhammad, in which he touched on how to manage the process of change and what are the problems and challenges of the education system. The current Iraqi higher education system, and the reasons for moving towards the Bologna path in the education system.

The workshop included familiarization and training on filling out the four ministerial annexes of the Bologna Track Guide. In addition, it was discussed how to achieve quality assurance for this educational track. At the conclusion of the workshop, ways were discussed to ensure integration between the Bologna Track and the current educational system to ensure the quality of education in Iraq in a comprehensive manner.
