College of Agriculture at the University of Basrah organized a seminar on studying the inflorescence rot disease of date palms in Basra Governorate and controlling it using some chemical compounds and biological agents and their interactions. The seminar dealt with isolating and diagnosing the various causes of the disease phenotypically and molecularly and testing their pathogenicity on palm trees. The seminar touched on a new recording of some fungi that cause the disease. Their impact on palm trees and evaluating the efficiency of some chemical pesticides and biological agents in controlling them.
