The University of Basrah organised a seminar on the role of pesticides and sustainable agriculture in Iraq - the role of private sector companies in it.

The College of Agriculture, Department of Plant Protection, organised a symposium on the role of pesticides and sustainable agriculture in Iraq—the role of private sector companies in it.

The symposium, which was held by Eng. Wissam Abdulazeez, aimed to identify the dangers of pesticides and their negative effects on food products, as well as the role of private sector companies in supporting agriculture and its sustainability in Iraq.

The symposium emphasised the importance of the use of pesticides that do not have a negative impact on the environment. In addition, the symposium shows that the private sector companies can play a crucial role in training and qualifying agricultural engineers.

On the other hand, it also emphasised the importance of organic and clean agriculture as sustainability factors and a positive role in reducing the toxic effects of pesticides.
