The College of Agriculture, Department of Field Crops, University of Basra, organized a workshop on the integrated management of field crops The workshop aimed at managing the crop within the soil conditions affected by salinity and the basis for choosing methods of crop and soil service within those conditions to reach a production and quality that would cover the costs of the agricultural process with profits. The workshop, which was attended by Professor Dr. Sundus Abdel Karim Mohamed and teacher Dr. Muhannad Abdel Hussein Aboud, included the practical aspect of integrated crop management, production sustainability and the exploitation of available natural resources, while clarifying the importance of understanding the theoretical aspect and its relationship to the practical aspect. The workshop recommended the need to disseminate biotechnology techniques for the production of improved seeds, varieties with desirable qualities and chemical techniques and to raise awareness of their uses such as fertilizers and agricultural pest control materials, with the need to establish educational and guidance courses for farmers and inform them of scientific and technical developments.
