Master's thesis at the College of Agriculture, University of Basrah (Management of fruitful tissue date palm offshoots of Al-Barhi cultivar by using the optimal pollen and antioxidant)

The thesis of the researcher (Al-Hamza Abdul-Zahra Muhammad Suwaid), which was conducted in one of the private orchards in Basra governorate, included the date palm trees of the Barhi variety at the age of (7-9) years for the season 2020-2021, where 27 trees were selected to conduct transactions on them. The experiment included two factors, the first inoculating palm trees with three pollen cultivars: green ghanami, a mixture of green ghanami + red ghanami, and a mixture of green ghanami + khakri, while the second treatment was spraying the vegetative and fruitful total with antioxidant and three concentrations of (0) ml. -1 (comparison treatment), (3) ml.l-1, and (6) ml.l-1. The thesis aims to select the optimal vaccine that leads to improving the physical, chemical, enzymatic, physiological and productive characteristics of the palm fruits and the extent of the palm’s response to a particular pollen variety. The trees were also sprayed with an antioxidant to show the extent of the effect of that anti-oxidant on palm trees under salt stress. The study also concluded that the pollination of tissue date palm trees of the Barhi cultivar with the green gonami + red gonami treatment and the green gonami + red treatment improved most of the physical, chemical, enzymatic and productive traits, while the green gorilla inoculation and the green gonami + red treatment improved most of the traits. Physiological. Spraying of the vegetative and fruit system with antioxidant improved most of the physical, chemical, enzymatic, physiological and productive characteristics, in addition to improving all the chemical characteristics of the leaves. The study recommended conducting more studies on the problems of date palm tissue by using more than one pollen variety individually or by mixing more than one pollen variety together.
