Under the patronage of the President of the University of Basra, Professor Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kazem, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Agriculture, Dr. Raghdan Hashem Mohsen, the Deanship of the College of Agriculture holds the National Afforestation Day, where the various departments of the College of Agriculture participated, in the presence of heads of scientific departments, teaching staff, employees, and students in this event.

A number of trees, shrubs and palms were planted in various locations around the College of Agriculture buildings with the aim of increasing green spaces. This initiative aims to enhance awareness of the importance of preserving the environment and providing green spaces at the university. It also works to improve air quality and provide a healthy and aesthetic environment for students, faculty and staff.

This initiative also reflects the commitment of the Ministry, the University and the College of Agriculture to environmental sustainability and enhancing the visual aesthetic of the campus. It also represents an opportunity for students to participate in a practical activity that contributes to enhancing environmental awareness and social responsibility.
