Basra university Media The College of Agriculture at the University of Basra organized a seminar about (heat stress and its impact on crop production) at the Postgraduate Hall/Agronomy Department. The seminar presented by researcher Hadi Saadoun Kazem aimed at understanding the impact of heat stress on the growth and development of crops and the techniques of plants to resist and tolerate stress. The episode presented a summary of heat stress and its impact on crops in general, and its effect on crops grown in hot regions in particular, as well as the awareness of these damages. The seminar recommended, according to the current climate changes, including the rise in temperatures, which will reduce the productivity of many crops. Several methods must be followed to improve the cultivated varieties, including the use of genetic engineering and the transfer of genes that can resist high temperatures, and wild varieties and species must also be studied and analyzed Resistance to high temperatures and knowledge of the basics of this resistance and understanding this mechanism.
