Based on the directives of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, and under the patronage of Professor Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kazim Al-Asadi, President of the University of Basra, and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Sarmed Ghazi Muhammad Al-Shawi, Dean of the College of Agriculture, and in the presence of several department heads and college staff, the college organized a moment of silence to commemorate the victims of the genocide suffered by the Yazidi community and other Iraqi communities, and to commemorate the souls of all Iraqi martyrs.

This moment of silence was an expression of human and national solidarity, an embodiment of the spirit of unity among the Iraqi people, and a rejection of all forms of violence and extremism that target Iraq's cultural and religious diversity.
