Basra University organizes a course on the role of chemical fertilizers in enhancing the productivity of strategic crops.

The College of Agriculture at the University of Basra organized a training course on "The Role of Chemical Fertilizers in Enhancing the Productivity of Strategic Crops."

The course aimed to familiarize participants with the types of fertilizers, their benefits, application methods, and their impact on various field crops.

The first day of the course included a lecture by Dr. Sundus Abdul Kareem Mohammed, which provided participants with knowledge and practical skills regarding fertilizer management to achieve optimal crop yield and quality.  The lecture covered the concept of fertilizers and fertilization, the importance of fertilizers in improving growth and production, the basic principles of effective fertilization, and methods for determining the fertilizer needs of crops.

The second lecture, delivered by Assistant Professor Wafaa Abdul Amir Ahmed, provided an overview of the types of fertilizers currently used in agriculture, the factors determining the type of fertilizer needed, and how to calculate the appropriate amount of single and compound fertilizers to apply to the soil.
