
The College of Agriculture at the University of Basra organized a discussion session on "The Impact of Climate Change on Insect Pests."
The session, presented by Professor Aqeel Adnan Abdul-Saeed, aimed to clarify the impact of climate change on insect pests, and to explain the causes of climate change and its repercussions on agriculture and the environment.
The session also addressed the relationship between climate change and the increase or change in the prevalence of insect pests, the impact of climate change on crop growth, and its effect on plant resistance to pests.
The discussion covered adaptation strategies to mitigate the effects of climate change on pest outbreaks, and the importance of implementing proposed policies and measures for sustainable agriculture and environmental protection in the context of climate change.
