
The College of Agriculture at the University of Basra participated in the 4th International Conference on Agricultural Technologies, held at Kirkuk University in cooperation with Anbar University. The conference was held under the patronage of and in the presence of the President of Kirkuk University, Prof. Dr. I'mran Jamal Hassan. The Basra delegation, led by the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Sarmad Ghazi Mohammed Al-Shawi, included several faculty members and researchers.
The College of Agriculture's participation in this conference reaffirms its leading role in supporting agricultural research and strengthening academic partnerships among Iraqi universities. The faculty members presented a number of high-quality research papers addressing innovative scientific solutions to agricultural challenges in the areas of crop production, modern irrigation technologies, plant protection, soil science, and agricultural economics. The presented research papers garnered significant interest from participants due to their practical nature and relevance to the current agricultural realities in Iraq.
In a statement on the sidelines of the conference, the Dean of the College of Agriculture at the University of Basra emphasized that "participation in this international scientific forum is part of the college's strategy to expand its horizons of scientific and research cooperation and exchange of expertise with Iraqi and international universities. This will enhance the quality of agricultural education and keep pace with global developments in this vital sector."
