
The College of Agriculture at the University of Basra organized a discussion session on the effect of covering clusters with different colors of polyethylene and spraying with gibberellin on some fruit characteristics and yield of the Bareem date palm variety.
The session, delivered by researcher Aseel Ali Farhoud, aimed to examine the role of environmental factors and hormonal regulation in improving the growth and development of Bareem date palm fruit production. This session examined the effect of covering clusters with different colors of polyethylene on the speed of ripening and improving their fruit characteristics. It also examined spraying with the growth regulator gibberellin (GA3) and its role in improving the percentage of fruit formation, its impact on fruit size and quality, and accelerating ripening.
