The College of Agriculture organizes a scientific visit to the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Basra

The Department of Animal Production at the College of Agriculture, University of Basra, organized a field trip for second-year students to the College of Veterinary Medicine, under the supervision of Dr. Falih Hassan Hamad and Dr. Jaafar Mohammed Owaid.

During the visit, the students were introduced to a variety of laboratory animals and learned about the differences in their morphological characteristics, as part of the practical component of their genetics course.

Dr. Nawras Abdullah, Head of the Physiology and Pharmacology Branch, provided a detailed scientific explanation of the genetic makeup and morphological differences of laboratory animals, highlighting key scientific observations.

Professors from both the College of Agriculture and the College of Veterinary Medicine emphasized the importance of field trips in enhancing practical skills and developing students' scientific knowledge. This aligns with the university's vision of bridging the gap between theory and practice, and preparing qualified personnel capable of meeting the scientific and research demands in the fields of animal production and veterinary medicine.
