The College of Agriculture at the University of Basra receives a scientific visit from Noor Al-Jawadain Private School to enhance students’ applied knowledge.

The College of Agriculture at the University of Basra welcomed a student delegation from Noor Al-Jawadain Private School in Basra on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, as part of a program of scientific visits aimed at bridging the gap between theoretical education and practical applications.

This visit, within the framework of joint cooperation between educational institutions, aimed to introduce the new generation to agricultural sciences and their importance in supporting the local economy and the environment.

The visit included an extensive guided tour of the college's scientific facilities. During the tour, the students visited the laboratories and insect museum in the Plant Protection Department, the Medicinal Plants and Essential Oils Unit to learn about extraction methods, and the cattle and duck pen belonging to the Animal Production Department to observe the principles of animal management and care.

The Dean of the College of Agriculture, Professor Dr. Sarmad Ghazi Mohammed Al-Shawi, indicated that these visits aim to raise awareness of the importance of agricultural specializations and encourage innovation in the field of food security.
