The College of Agriculture at the University of Basra organized a workshop on the role of genetics, environment, and insect behavior in transmitting diseases to animals and humans.
The workshop aimed to clarify the interaction between the genetic and behavioral factors of insects and their environment in spreading epidemics.
The workshop, presented by Dr. Jaafar Owaid and Dr. Basim Hassan Abdul-Ridha, included an analytical study of how the genetic makeup, insect behavior, and environmental conditions contribute to the transmission of pathogens to humans and animals.
The workshop recommended the necessity of integrating genetic and environmental understanding into disease vector control strategies to reduce their severity.
