The Dean of the College of Agriculture at the University of Basra participated in the annual meeting to review the program for the development and engagement of youth and adolescents.

The College of Agriculture at the University of Basra reaffirmed its leading role in supporting youth, with the participation of its Dean, Professor Dr. Sarmad Ghazi Mohammed Al-Shawi, in a review meeting of the "Youth and Adolescent Development and Engagement Program" within the "Participatory Action-Based Research" program. This program was organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports in cooperation with UNICEF, and the meeting was held in Baghdad on Sunday, November 30, 2025.

The Dean's attendance at the meeting reflects the strategic importance of integrating the specialized academic sector in the fields of agriculture and the environment into youth empowerment plans.

The Dean emphasized the institution's commitment to leveraging its expertise to address the challenges of climate change and water scarcity in Basra, and to equip young people with the necessary skills to lead sustainable development and community stability.
