As part of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research's efforts to ensure the quality of the educational and research environment, the College of Agriculture at the University of Basra received a specialized ministerial committee from the Academic Accreditation Department.
The visit aimed to directly assess the state of the scientific laboratories and their compliance with academic standards and accreditation requirements across the university's colleges.
The committee was received by the Dean of the College of Agriculture, Professor Dr. Sarmad Ghazi Mohammed Al-Shawi, and the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Sadiq Jabbar Mohsen. The committee's tour focused on evaluating the readiness of the laboratories, the availability of modern equipment, the level of regular maintenance, and the extent of full adherence to occupational safety procedures.
The visit also included a thorough examination of the usage records and academic documentation for laboratory materials and equipment.
At the conclusion of the visit, the committee commended the significant efforts made by the college's administration and staff in providing a suitable and supportive educational and research environment for students and researchers, emphasizing the importance of continuing to develop the laboratory infrastructure to serve the scientific and research progress at the university. The University of Basra Presidency affirms its full commitment to implementing all directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and its ongoing efforts to ensure the highest levels of quality and accreditation in all its facilities and academic colleges.
