The College of Agriculture at the University of Basra organized a specialized awareness seminar on "Smoking: An Enemy of Health and Society."
The seminar aimed to highlight the health, social, and economic harms caused by smoking and to provide guidance on quitting, particularly among youth and students.
The college hosted Dr. Sajjad Salem Issa, who presented a scientific overview of the negative effects of smoking on various bodily systems, focusing on chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease and lung cancer.
Dr. Sajjad offered important insights into effective scientific and psychological methods for quitting smoking, emphasizing the importance of institutional and family support in this process.
