As part of the University of Basra's efforts to enhance scientific cooperation and the exchange of expertise among its colleges, the College of Veterinary Medicine organized a scientific visit for its students to the animal farm belonging to the College of Agriculture in Karma Ali.
This visit was supervised by a group of professors from the College of Veterinary Medicine, and they were received and supervised by specialized professors from the Department of Animal Production at the College of Agriculture.
The visit primarily aimed to familiarize veterinary students with the practical aspects of establishing cattle and sheep pens and facilities according to modern scientific standards, as well as the most important technical and administrative principles followed in raising and caring for these animals. The supervising professors from the Department of Animal Production provided a detailed explanation of the significant economic importance of such projects.
This joint initiative underscores the commitment of both colleges to providing students with the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills, and to activating the role of applied scientific research in supporting the livestock sector in Iraq.
