Under the patronage of the President of the University of Basra, the Ninth International Scientific Conference of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences was inaugurated. The conference, held under the theme "Sports and Digital Transformation: Scientific Visions for Building a Sustainable Future," fostered academic collaboration among the various departments of the university. Professor Dr. Sarmad Ghazi Mohammed Al-Shawi, Dean of the College of Agriculture, participated in the conference, emphasizing the importance of integration between different scientific disciplines. This participation supports the strategic vision of the University of Basra's presidency to strengthen ties between scientific and humanities colleges, particularly in the areas of sustainable development and digital transformation, which impact all sectors.

During the opening ceremony, the President of the University of Basra, Professor Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kadhim Al-Asadi, commended the presence of academic leaders from various colleges. He noted that the university is steadily progressing towards adopting modern technologies and translating scientific visions into applied projects that serve the Basra community and Iraq as a whole.
