The College of Agriculture at the University of Basra organized an educational seminar entitled "The Religious Identity of University Students in the Face of Alien Cultures: A Quranic Educational Perspective," commemorating the National Day of the Holy Quran.
The seminar aimed to define the concept of alien cultures and their sources of infiltration through the digital sphere and academic openness.
The seminar, presented by Dr. Falih Abdul-Ridha Al-Mousawi, Director of the Imam Hussein Center (peace be upon him) at the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein, addressed consumerism and its consequences.
The seminar also covered the negative effects on language, linguistic hybridization, identity instability, and alienation from national goals.
The seminar concluded by discussing the tools and mechanisms for strengthening religious identity through cultural critique and analysis, activating the university's educational role, and fostering conscious openness.
