In a spirit of cooperation among the colleges of the University of Basra, the Student Activities Division at the College of Agriculture implemented a large-scale volunteer campaign to plant seedlings and trees. The campaign targeted the gardens and green spaces of the College of Computer Science and Information Technology and the Student Affairs building.
The campaign saw active participation from Dr. Wael Ali Sawadi, the Administrative Assistant to the Dean of the College of Agriculture; Dr. Mohsen Abdul-Hay Dashar, Director of the Consulting Office; and Dr. Waleed Latif Mu'ayridh, Head of the Student Activities Unit at the College of Agriculture. A number of staff members and student volunteers also contributed their efforts to the success of this environmental initiative.
The campaign was conducted in direct cooperation with the College of Agriculture's nursery, which provided the initiative with a diverse range of seedlings and plants suitable for the local environment. This ensured the sustainability of the vegetation and beautified the walkways and gardens of the College of Computer Science and Information Technology and the Student Affairs building, thus enhancing the aesthetic appeal and promoting a healthy environment on campus.
The campaign concluded with praise from the College of Computer Science administration and student affairs departments, who commended the College of Agriculture for its role in supporting green spaces and providing ongoing technical and agricultural support.
