Faculty members from the University of Basra participate in a scientific seminar on "Marine Fish Farming in Basra Governorate"

Faculty members from the College of Agriculture at the University of Basra, including Dr. Amjad Kadhim Rasen, Dr. Jalal Mohammed Issa, and Dr. Sadiq Jawad Mohammed, participated in a scientific seminar held at the Basra Center for Studies in the Arabian Gulf at the University of Basra.

The seminar included their presentation of a lecture entitled "Marine Fish Farming at the University of Basra," which outlined ways to develop marine aquaculture in Basra Governorate as a model and alternative to freshwater fish farming, which faces serious challenges due to freshwater scarcity and the severe climate changes affecting the region.

The lecture also highlighted the potential for marine aquaculture in Basra and the governorate's ability to become a leader in this field, given its unique coastline on the Arabian Gulf.

The seminar aimed to promote marine aquaculture in Basra Governorate and present it as an alternative to freshwater fish farming, addressing the challenges of water scarcity and climate change, and capitalizing on the governorate's unique geographical location on the Arabian Gulf.
