In a gesture of appreciation, the Plant Protection Department at the College of Agriculture, University of Basra, held a joyous ceremony to bid farewell to Dr. Yahya Ashour Saleh on the occasion of his retirement, in recognition of his distinguished academic and educational career.
The ceremony, overseen by the Head of the Plant Protection Department, Dr. Muslim Ashour Abdul Wahid, included speeches delivered by Dr. Saleh and Dr. Mohammed Hamza Abbas, who highlighted Dr. Yahya Ashour's pioneering role in laying the foundations and establishing the department's structure.
His prolific scientific and research output, which has enriched academic libraries, was also emphasized, along with his pivotal role in preparing and graduating generations of researchers and specialists at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
The department's faculty members participating in the ceremony expressed their deep pride in Dr. Saleh, praising his unwavering dedication to public service and his constant support for his colleagues and students. They wished him continued success and fulfillment in his future endeavors.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of commemorative gifts from the department members as a token of their love and gratitude to the esteemed professor, in appreciation of his tireless efforts and distinguished contributions to knowledge throughout his years of academic service.
