University of Basra participates in the 4th Entrepreneurship Forum to promote the green and blue economy towards sustainable development in Iraq

The College of Agriculture at the University of Basra participated in the 4th Entrepreneurship Forum, hosted by the Basra Governorate under the theme "Green and Blue Economy: Entrepreneurial Paths Towards the Future." This participation was a joint effort between the University of Basra and the National Investment Commission, in strategic partnership with international and national organizations.

Faculty members from the college participated in workshops titled "The Future of Entrepreneurship in Iraq," which explored applications of the green economy as a tool for achieving sustainable development and how to transform current environmental challenges into promising investment opportunities.

The sessions also focused on the concept of the blue economy and the importance of strengthening Iraq's regional role in the sustainability and protection of water resources. Several innovative projects designed for implementation within the local environment were also presented.

At the conclusion of the forum, the speakers and participants from the College of Agriculture and supporting organizations were honored with certificates of appreciation in recognition of their contributions to establishing the concepts of a sustainable economy and their efforts in developing a practical roadmap for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals in Iraq by linking academic research with the entrepreneurial labor market.
