The College of Agriculture at the University of Basra organized a scientific awareness seminar entitled “Raising Awareness and Education about Infectious Diseases and Their Transmission,” as part of its programs aimed at promoting health and preventative awareness within the university community.

The seminar, presented by Dr. Samira Abdul Zahra Daaj and Dr. Khawla Hamza Mohammed, provided a simplified scientific explanation of the concept of infectious diseases and their transmission mechanisms, whether through direct contact, respiratory droplets, or contaminated surfaces and tools. It also addressed the environmental and behavioral factors that contribute to their spread within the community.

The two lectures covered the most important preventative measures, including adherence to personal hygiene practices, regular vaccinations, and promoting early health awareness.
