Under the patronage of the President of the University of Basra, Professor Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kadhim Al-Asadi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Agriculture, Professor Dr. Sarmad Ghazi Muhammad Al-Shawi, and as part of efforts to instill human values within the university campus, the College of Agriculture, in cooperation with the Human Rights Unit and with the active participation of the Student Activities Division, held an art exhibition entitled "The Culture of Tolerance and the Rejection of Violence and Bullying within the University Environment."
The exhibition included a collection of awareness-raising photographs and informational panels that depicted realistic images of bullying and its effects, alongside positive scenes embodying the spirit of cooperation, support, and tolerance among students.
It also featured impactful phrases calling for acceptance of others, respect for differences, and the promotion of a culture of dialogue instead of violence. The artworks varied between oil paintings, charcoal drawings, and awareness posters that advocate making the university environment an oasis of safety and creativity.
On the sidelines of the opening, the Dean of the College stated, "We believe that art is the fastest way to reach minds and hearts. This exhibition is not merely a display of paintings; it is a clear message that our college rejects all forms of violence and discrimination and supports building bridges of trust and affection among all its members."
The exhibition concluded with recommendations emphasizing the importance of continuing to hold awareness-raising activities and organizing workshops and educational courses that contribute to building a safe university environment free from violence and bullying, and that promotes the values of tolerance and positive belonging.
