The College of Agriculture at the University of Basra organized a field visit to the Al-Najeebiya Gas Power Plant, with the participation of a select group of faculty members and doctoral students.
The visit aimed to enhance students' expertise in assessing water quality and its direct impact on the efficiency of vital facilities, and to foster cooperation between the university and service institutions in the governorate, thus contributing to scientific and developmental progress.
The visit, which included Dr. Naeem Shind Hammadi and Dr. Adel Qasim Jassim, involved observing the technologies used in water purification and treatment within the plant, learning about the physical and chemical testing mechanisms employed to ensure water quality and its compliance with technical standards, and studying the relationship between the quality of used water and the sustainability of turbines and service equipment.
This initiative is part of a series of field activities undertaken by the College of Agriculture to empower its researchers to address technical challenges and find innovative scientific solutions that contribute to improving the service and environmental landscape in Basra.
