Basra University and the Chamber of Commerce discuss joint cooperation with the German company "bbw" regarding mechanisms to support small projects.

The College of Agriculture at the University of Basra, in collaboration with the Basra Chamber of Commerce, discussed joint cooperation in an introductory workshop for the GLO program. This workshop was held in partnership with the German organization "bbw" (the Bavarian Institute for Empowerment). Participating in the workshop were Dr. Ali Khudhair Jaber and Dr. Farqad Murtadha Hamid.

Dr. Khudhair stated that the College of Agriculture at the University of Basra is prepared to provide technical and advisory support for food industry projects. He emphasized the economic feasibility of dairy production projects in the marshlands due to the availability of raw materials and low establishment costs. He also proposed holding specialized training workshops for young people within the university.

Dr. Farqad highlighted key areas of future cooperation in internship programs, including resuming field training for graduates to enhance their career paths and increase their employment opportunities. He also mentioned the establishment of a specialized institute to provide the labor market with specialized skills not currently available through academic programs, supplying project owners with data on urban planning and energy transition to support investment decisions, and approving a package of programs in digital marketing, cash flow management, and negotiation skills. This step aims to enhance integration between academic institutions and international expertise to drive sustainable economic development in Basra Governorate.
