To strengthen the partnership with the industrial sector, the Dean of the College of Agriculture participated in the first founding meeting of the Advisory Council at the University of Basra.

The Dean of the College of Agriculture, Professor Dr. Sarmad Ghazi Mohammed Al-Shawi, participated in the inaugural meeting of the Industrial Advisory Council, held by the University of Basra under the auspices and in the presence of the University President, Professor Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kadhim Al-Asadi, and the Vice President for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Haider Khazal Mahbas, along with members of the University Council and representatives of industrial and executive institutions in the province.

The President of the University of Basra, Professor Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kadhim Al-Asadi, opened the session with a speech emphasizing that the establishment of this council represents a strategic step towards strengthening the partnership between academia, state institutions, and the industrial sector. He stressed that the integration of scientific and field expertise is the cornerstone for achieving sustainable development.

The College of Agriculture's participation in this council stems from its vital role in supporting food security and developing the agricultural sector and its related processing industries.

The Dean of the College of Agriculture affirmed, "The College of Agriculture's presence at this forum reflects its commitment to developing agricultural innovations and transforming academic research into development projects that serve the industrial and productive sectors in Iraq."
