The College of Agriculture at the University of Basra organized a seminar on drought and desertification and their impact on agriculture in Iraq.

The seminar, presented by Assistant Professor Hayat Mohammed Redha Mahdi, aimed to identify the causes of the worsening drought and desertification in Iraq over the past five years, and its impact on the country's agricultural and production sectors, while also proposing solutions to this problem.

The seminar addressed the causes of drought and desertification in Iraq and the resulting problems, which have led to a decline in plant production.

It also discussed proposed solutions to improve plant production and utilize rainwater as a reservoir for irrigation during the dry season.
