The College of Agriculture at the University of Basra organized a seminar entitled "Carbon Storage and Sequestration." The seminar, presented by Dr. Alaa Hassan Al-Fartousi, aimed to introduce the concept of carbon storage and its importance in mitigating climate change. It also highlighted modern technologies used in carbon dioxide capture and explained the role of soil and ecosystems in storing carbon and reducing emissions. The seminar included a scientific presentation on the mechanisms of carbon capture and storage in soil and geological formations, and a discussion of the challenges facing the application of these technologies at the local and global levels.
