The College of Agriculture at the University of Basra organized a scientific visit to the university's food processing plant in the Karma Ali complex in Basra Governorate. This visit was part of the requirements for the Quality Control course for fourth-year students in the Food Science Department at the College of Agriculture, aiming to enhance the practical application of knowledge and connect theoretical concepts with real-world practice.
The visit included both theoretical and practical components. Students learned about the quality control mechanisms employed at the plant, the various stages of production, and the equipment and technologies used in laboratory tests to ensure the safety of food products and their compliance with standards.
The students also received a detailed explanation of the quality control procedures, from receiving raw materials to the final product, in addition to practical applications that reinforced their scientific understanding.
The visit was supervised by the course instructors: Dr. Alaa Mohammed Sadkhan, Dr. Alia Jamil Ali, and Inas Abdul Rahman Ali, who emphasized the importance of such scientific activities in developing students' skills and preparing them for the job market.
At the end of the visit, the students expressed their great appreciation for the experience, which provided them with a firsthand look at the real work environment in the food industry.
