The College of Agriculture at the University of Basra organized a seminar on "Assessing the Accumulation of Heavy Metals in Palm Trees under the Influence of Lukoil Oil Flares in Southern Iraq."

The seminar, presented by Dr. Mohsen Abdul-Hay Dasher, aimed to raise awareness of the dangers of heavy metal pollution and its impact on the agricultural and environmental sectors, while emphasizing the importance of sustainable natural resource management.

The seminar included an explanation of the accumulation of heavy metals in palm trees, sources of pollution associated with oil activities, and their effects on soil, plants, and the environment.
