The College of Agriculture at the University of Basra organized a seminar on "The Interaction Between Salinity, Soil Degradation, and Increased Plant Diseases in Saline Environments."

The seminar, presented by Dr. Lina Kadhim Mashhout, aimed to highlight the challenges facing agriculture in southern Iraq due to the increasing salinity of soil and irrigation water.

The seminar also covered the physiological mechanisms of plants in coping with salt stress and pathogen infection.
