The College of Agriculture at the University of Basra organized a seminar entitled "Some Strategies and Methods Used to Increase Wheat's Tolerance to Drought Stress."

The seminar, presented by researcher Abbas Taib Nasser, aimed to highlight the impact of drought stress on wheat yield components, identify high-yielding varieties, and explore the use of antitranspirants to reduce stress and boron spraying to alleviate it.

The study included several scientific research papers and field experiments to evaluate the performance of different wheat varieties when proline and boron levels were added at varying field sizes. The addition of proline and boron levels resulted in improved yield components.
