University of Basra organizes a scientific visit to the Agricultural Research Station

The College of Agriculture at the University of Basra organized a field trip for first-year students in the Field Crops Department to the fields of the Agricultural Research Station, in cooperation with the Seed Testing and Certification Department in Basra Governorate, and under the supervision of a select group of professors from the department.

The visit aimed to familiarize students with the production processes of high-quality seeds and the technical methods used in managing fields for propagating advanced seed varieties.

The visit included a detailed explanation presented by the supervising professors in conjunction with specialists from the Seed Testing and Certification Department. They discussed the stringent standards that ensure seeds are free from impurities and diseases, and how seed varieties are classified according to established agricultural systems.

The students expressed the importance of these visits in enriching their knowledge and deepening their understanding of their specialization. They also praised the fruitful cooperation between the college and agricultural institutions in the governorate.
