On its 62nd anniversary, the University of Basra celebrates its scientific legacy and honors the head of the Soil Department and the Director of Human Resources at the College of Agriculture.

The University of Basra held a grand central celebration to mark its 62nd anniversary, under the patronage and in the presence of the University President, Professor Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kadhim Al-Asadi, and with wide participation from deans of colleges and teaching and administrative staff.

The celebration included a notable tribute to the outstanding efforts of the university's staff in scientific and administrative fields. The University President honored Professor Dr. Rashad Adel Omran, Head of the Department of Soil Science and Water Resources in the College of Agriculture, in recognition of his scientific and administrative excellence and his active role in raising the department's standards and contributing to the university's research output. He also honored Ms. Sundus Khalil Abdul Wahid, Director of Human Resources, in appreciation of her exceptional efforts and dedication in managing staff administrative matters and her distinguished role in developing institutional administrative work.

In his address to the attendees, the University President, Professor Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kadhim Al-Asadi, emphasized that honoring this elite group embodies the university's approach to nurturing innovators. He stated, "This recognition reflects the University of Basra's commitment to supporting national talent and fostering a culture of excellence and creativity among its members, inspiring their colleagues to strive for excellence in service of higher education in our beloved Iraq."

This celebration comes at a time when the University of Basra is witnessing a significant rise in global rankings, reaffirming its role as a cornerstone in building society and developing scientific research throughout its 62 years of existence.
