The Food Science Department at the College of Agriculture, University of Basra, organized a series of seminars for Master's students, which were reviewed by a committee appointed by the department head.
The seminars addressed vital and contemporary topics in various fields of food science, including a review of the latest methods for increasing production efficiency and improving the quality of local products, highlighting microbiological risks and methods for controlling them to ensure food safety, and discussing bioactive compounds and their applications in functional foods.
These seminars aimed to develop students' skills in presenting scientific findings logically, and to facilitate discussion between students and the supervising committee to exchange ideas, refine research approaches, and stay abreast of the latest global research in their specific areas of expertise.
The department's professors praised the high quality of the students' scientific presentations, emphasizing the importance of these seminars in developing the character of academic researchers capable of meeting the technical challenges of the job market and contributing to the development of the food industry in the country.
