The College of Agriculture at the University of Basra organized a field trip for third-year students in the Department of Fisheries and Marine Resources to the Physiology Laboratory at the College of Veterinary Medicine. This trip was part of the requirements for the "Genetics" course and was supervised by the course instructors, Dr. Alaa Mohammed Sadkhan and Dr. Noor Majid Awad.
The visit aimed to deepen students' academic understanding by observing the practical applications of genetics and physiology in a state-of-the-art laboratory environment. It also aimed to strengthen scientific cooperation between the Colleges of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine to exchange expertise and technologies, and to prepare and qualify students to use the sophisticated laboratory equipment used in marine resource research.
The visit included direct exposure for students to the latest laboratory technologies used in analyzing vital functions and studying genetic principles, and their application to the practical aspects of aquaculture and fish farming.
