The College of Agriculture at the University of Basra held an educational seminar entitled "Electronic Blackmail, Drugs, and Violent Extremism: Their Impact on University Students." The seminar was attended by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Sarmad Ghazi Mohammed Al-Shawi, his assistants, faculty members, staff, and students.
The seminar, during which speakers addressed the negative aspects of electronic blackmail, drug abuse, domestic violence, women's rights, and the state's role in combating and educating society, aimed to reduce these negative phenomena, which are alien to Iraqi society.
Colonel Alaa Dhahi Khalifa discussed methods of prevention and avoidance of falling prey to these phenomena, how to deal with them, and how the state can contribute to resolving problems that individuals may face, with complete security and confidentiality.
Colonel Ahmed Hashim Najm addressed the seminar, discussing the penalties for those convicted of these crimes, in order to maintain the security of society and the state.
