A master's thesis at the College of Agriculture, University of Basra, investigated "The Effect of the Interaction Between Nano-Silicon and Biochar on the Growth and Yield of Wheat Plants in Saline Soils in the Governorate."
The study, presented by researcher Noor Al-Huda Hassan Laibi, aimed to evaluate different levels of these technologies, both individually and in combination, and to demonstrate their effectiveness in improving soil properties and increasing the productivity of strategic crops as sustainable and environmentally friendly alternatives.
The thesis recommended adopting the use of biochar and nano-silicon together at the optimal concentration for reclaiming saline lands, and expanding future studies on diverse crops and environmental conditions to support sustainable agricultural development.
