The College of Agriculture at the University of Basra organized a seminar entitled "Studying the Biological and Enzymatic Activity of Iraqi Bee Pollen and its Application in Functional Food Production."

The seminar, presented by researcher Al-Hussein Zaki Zaalan, aimed to evaluate the nutritional and biological properties of bee pollen collected from 13 Iraqi regions and to explore its potential use in functional food production.

The study examined the pollen's chemical composition, active compounds, enzymatic activity, antioxidant properties, and its antibacterial and anticancer effects.

The results showed that the pollen is rich in proteins and antioxidants and possesses promising biological activity. Its inclusion in the production of protein bars enhances the nutritional and functional value of the product, making it a complete functional food source.
