A master's thesis at the University of Basra discusses the wilting of the Zambian plant and the possibility of combating it.

A master's thesis at the College of Agriculture, University of Basra, investigated "Isolation and Identification of Fungi Causing Wilt Disease on Ornamental Plant Zambia and Their Control Using Biocontrol Agents and Plant Extracts."

The thesis, submitted by researcher Zahraa Abdul-Imam Majeed, aimed to isolate and identify the pathogen methodologically and molecularly, and to evaluate the efficacy of biocontrol agents and Moringa leaf extract as alternatives to chemical pesticides.

The study concluded that the responsible fungus is the primary causative agent with high pathogenicity, while the biocontrol treatments proved effective in reducing infection.

The thesis recommended the use of aqueous Moringa extract and biocontrol agents such as Trichoderma to reduce infections and promote safe and sustainable plant growth.
