Dr. Amjad Abbas Fadhil, a faculty member at the College of Agriculture, University of Basrah, participated in the Second International Conference on Applied Life Sciences.
His participation included presenting a research paper entitled "Evaluating the Toxicity of the Insecticides Thiamethoxam and Imidacloprid Against the Calophellus apicalis Mosquito in Laboratory and Field Tests."
The research aimed to evaluate the toxicity of the two insecticides in the field and laboratory by determining the LC50 value for each insecticide, which provided an important indicator of their toxicity.
The field results confirmed the effectiveness of the two insecticides in reducing the insect population within 15 days after spraying.
